Meta Sense Units (MSU) consists of multiple sensors that precisely measure a wide variety of electrical and other parameters (e.g. current discrepancy, voltage, frequency, conductor temperature, humidity, pitch and roll, and many other parameters) – all, encapsulated in weatherproof case, installed on the electricity lines.

The Communications Adapter Unit (CAU) is a communications gateway that transfers the data collected from the MSU’s to the Meta-Alert® server. The bidirectional communication between the CAU and multiple MSU’s is mesh radio collecting data from the sensors and allowing for remote firmware upgrades and configuration. This data is then sent on to the Meta-Alert® system for further processing.

EGM’s Meta-Alert® system collects all of the data from the sensors in its raw format and applies processes including advanced algorithms. These algorithms are used to create valuable information in the way of applications. These applications allow our utility customers to improve their reliability and resiliency, detect and analyze pre-fault conditions, and comply with government regulations.
